A race of crow-like, wingless Avians that communicate through their ability to flawlessly imitate any sound they hear. These flightless people often form thieves guilds, referred to as “flocks” in major cities and quite often work as burglars, pickpockets, and assassins Favored classes: Rogue

Physical Description

Wretched Kenku – About 5’0 to 5’6, and about 90-110 pounds, these crow-like people have avian heads with a large beak and glossy black feathers, which cover the body except for their clawed hands and the skin starting about halfway up its legs. The skin on these areas can range from dark grey to bright yellow.
Blessed Kenku – About 5’3 to 5’9, and about 100-120 pounds, but unlike their wretched counterparts, these humanoid people do not have an avian head, but do tend to have an unusually large nose, that tends to stick a few inches out from their faces. The blessed kenku have feathers that cover the same areas of their as their wretched counterparts, but these feathers tend to be some shade of gray. The color of their actual skin is as diverse as the wretched kenku’s.

Ability Score Increase. +2 Dexterity

Age. Kenku live about as long as humans

Alignment. Kenku have a natural inclination towards the chaotic end of the spectrum, and most are chaotic neutral, though there are examples of other alignments.

Size. Medium

Speed. Your base walking speed is 30 feet.

Ambusher. You have advantage on attack rolls against any creature your have surprised

Mimicry. You can mimic any sounds you have heard, including voices. This talent extends to handwriting. A creature that hears the sounds or sees your forgery can tell they are imitations, or a forgery, with a successful Wisdom (Insight) check. The DC of this check is equal to 8 + your Charisma modifier + your proficiency bonus.

Darkvision. You can see dim light within 60 feet as if it were bright light, and darkness within 60 feet as if it were dim light. You can not discern colors in darkness, only shades of gray.

Languages. You understand Common and Aural, but can only speak through your Mimicry trait.

Subrace. Blessed Kenku or Wretched Kenku


Ability Score Increase. +1 Wisdom, +1 Intelligence

Favored. You can call upon your deity as a bonus action, providing you a +2 bonus to AC, and 5 temporary hit points. You cannot use this ability again until you finish a long rest. At levels 6, 11, and 16 the AC bonus increases by 2 and the temporary hit points increase by 5.

Holy preservation. If you die, your body does not decay, and won’t be infested by creatures. If somebody casts the Raise Dead, Ressurection, or True ressurection spell on you, they will work regardless of how long ago it is you died.


Ability Score Increase. +1 Charisma

Innate Treachery. You gain proficiency in the Deception skill.

Hollow Bones. You can jump twice as far and high as you normally would be able to.

Natural Camouflage. You can take the hide action whenever you are in dim light or darkness.
